A simple and quick charging can be done by a forklift.
Production returns and pig-packages will be charged directly.
Lifting and tilting devices are used in high capacity furnace
applications. Container with
production returns or pigs are provided automatically by an elevator.
Some furnaces are equipped with a material buffer, built as a two stage
conveyors, to realise an automatically charging. Pigs and production
returns in containers, are placed on the conveyor by a forklift. The
material is weighed automatically, charged and the empty containers are
taken out from the withdrawal station. The buffer size is arbitrary. The
furnace control system guarantees an optimal melting process. |
