Pressure Casting and Rope Casting
at every kind of casting furnace
A porous fireproof and aluminium-steady stone is built with a
gas-impermeable verge into the furnace ground. The porosity of the stone is so
constituted that no liquid aluminium can penetrate. On the cold side a gas pipe
leads into the stone. The cleaning gas coming from a gas rule station is introduced
into the porous stone and drips on the hot side as finely distributed gas
bubbles.

Tidiness and homogeneity of the
bath are improved considerably. |

density-index-value of approximately 1,5 and a reduction
of other inclusions (STIC) about approximately 80% are typical. |

Temperature-differences over the
height of the bath are minimized. |

furnace-performance is increased. |
A temporary
operation of the furnace without cleaning-gas is possible. Outstanding durability of the stones.
The re-operation of the porous stones nevertheless participates possible
without problems. Argon is used as fuel gas mostly. Nitrogen as
cleaning-gas is possible if a formation of Nitrid (for example with
magnesium) is not to fear. The result is an outstanding aluminium
quality.
The quantity of gas determines the result. Three operation-manners can be summarized.

Degasing =
low gas-flow to reduce the hydrogen. |

= big gas-flow for intensive mixing of the bath. |

= high gas-pressure for periodic cleaning of the stone. |
